Heven or hell ?

You come to 2 doors - one leads to hell the other to heaven, but you don't know which is which.
There is a guardian in front of each door, one tells the truth 100% of the time the other lies 100% of the time, but you don't know which is the liar or which is the honest guardian.
you are allowed to ask only one question before you choose a door to go down - what question do you ask?

you would ask one of the guards which door the other guard would say is the door to heaven.
then take the opposite door.
then take the opposite door.

Yes but it depend. If you ask the liar or not.
I have seen something like that in the movie "Labyrinth" (With David Bowie). I remember that the girl missed it and have been saved by the dwarf when she was in the hole. Anyway i won't tell you all the movie, it will be very long hahaha.

No, it doesn't depend on that at all.
If you ask the "liar" which door the other guard will say goes to heaven, he will tell you the wrong one (the Hell door).
If you ask the "truthful" guard which door the other guard will say goes to heaven, he will point to the Hell door also, because he knows this is the door that the other guard will point to because he is lying.
So both will point to the hell door.
You take the opposite door to Heaven.

You ask the guard which door the other guard would tell you to chose. Then chose the opposite door. So jdsapp was pretty much correct. Congrats!

Uh, couldn't you also simple ask which one of them is the liar? The guardian of heaven, who tells the truth 100% of the time is not lying, so he can't answer--but the guardian of hell never tells the truth, so he'd say he isn't lying. You catch them in a logical loop.

If you ask the truthful one "Which one of you is a liar?", he will say, "The other guard" and he will be telling the truth.
If you ask the liar "Which one of you is a liar?", he will say, "The other guard" because he is a liar.
So this would not work because they would point their fingers at one another.
